News archives include photos of Abe Shinzo with dozens of prominent Uyghur activists, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iuhrdf.org\/content\/rabiye-qadeer-what-i-expect-alaska-talks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rebiya Kadeer,\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uyghurcongress.org\/en\/press-release-the-wuc-mourns-the-death-of-former-japan-pm-shinzo-abe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dolkun Isa<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uyghurcongress.org\/en\/staff\/omer-kanat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Omer Qanat,\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hurriyet.com.tr\/avrupa\/dogu-turkistan-milli-meclisi-kuruldu-40972809\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Seyit Tumturuk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to official Chinese statements issued various times in past decades, Kadeer is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.minet-tv.com\/en\/reports\/en\/rebiya-kadeer-chinas-state-enemy-no-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">number one\u00a0<\/a>among China\u2019s \u201cenemy forces\u201d abroad, and she has been\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/content.time.com\/time\/world\/article\/0,8599,1909109,00.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">accused<\/a>\u00a0of being a provocateur of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bitterwinter.org\/uyghurs-remember-the-urumqi-massacre-of-2009\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">July 5 Urumqi incident<\/a>. Dolqun Isa was on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fairtrials.org\/articles\/news\/interpol-deletes-red-notice-against-persecuted-uyghur-dissident-dolkun-isa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Interpol\u2019s red alert<\/a>\u00a0for two decades due to Chinese demand; Seyit Tumturuk was considered a \u201creligious extremist\u201d in Turkey,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/europe_uyghur-leader-detained-turkey-china-foreign-minister-visits\/6203791.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0disturbing<\/a>\u00a0China\u2013Turkey relations. I think the answer is clear. He fully understood what China is, and the threat it poses to the world. Abe Shinzo had not forgotten that the Chinese Communist Party, which leads China, was a force that retained its power by suppressing the country\u2019s citizens with tanks in the 1989\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/this-day-in-history\/tiananmen-square-massacre-takes-place\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tiananmen Square Massacre.<\/a>\u00a0Abe also foresaw and predicted the signs of the Uyghur genocide tragedy that has been going on for the last five years.<\/p>\n<p>More importantly, he was able to perceive the genocidal and murderous Chinese threat to the Japanese people. He may have imagined what a bandit government, with no mercy on its own citizens, could do to its neighbors, especially those\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2017\/jan\/13\/china-rewrites-history-books-to-extend-sino-japanese-war-by-six-years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">introduced<\/a>\u00a0as historical enemies in Chinese state textbooks.<\/p>\n<p>Experts commonly believe that the Uyghur region has been one of the worst in the world in terms of\u00a0<a class=\"glossaryLink\" style=\"box-sizing: inherit; background-color: transparent; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out 0s; color: #dd3333 !important; text-decoration: none !important; border-bottom: 1px dotted #dd3333 !important;\" href=\"https:\/\/bitterwinter.org\/Vocabulary\/human-rights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Human Rights&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;The fundamental rights of all human beings to life, freedom, justice, and safety, defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948.&lt;\/div&gt;\" data-gt-translate-attributes=\"[{&quot;attribute&quot;:&quot;data-cmtooltip&quot;, &quot;format&quot;:&quot;html&quot;}]\">human rights<\/a>\u00a0for the last twenty years. Uyghurs prefer the name &amp;quot;East Turkestan,\u201d which was also used by two ephemeral independent states, known as the First (1933) and the Second (1944\u201349) East Turkestan Republics.
