About 40% of polysilicon, a critical component of solar panels, comes from Xinjiang.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Uyghurs held in Saudi prison may risk deportation to China<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Two Uyghur men arbitrarily detained in Saudi Arabia were transferred to a new prison\u00a0<a class=\"wsw__a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rfa.org\/english\/news\/uyghur\/saudi-arabia-detainees-03252022164921.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">from which Uyghurs have been deported<\/a>\u00a0to China before, said the daughter of one of the detainees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Florida governor criticizes Disney for silence on China&#8217;s treatment of Uyghurs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After Disney opposed Florida&#8217;s Parental Rights in Education bill, state Governor Ron DeSantis accused the company of &#8220;actively&#8221;\u00a0<a class=\"wsw__a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10665133\/Florida-Gov-Ron-DeSantis-slams-Disney-failing-condemn-Chinas-genocide-Uyghurs.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">endorsing China&#8217;s mistreatment of Uyghurs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Police: Uyghur mother who fled forced abortion died in Chinese prison<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Uyghur woman sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2017 for escaping a forced abortion in 2014 in Xinjiang is dead. A Chinese police officer in Xinjiang told Radio Free Asia that she had\u00a0<a class=\"wsw__a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rfa.org\/english\/news\/uyghur\/zeynebhan-memtimin-03292022165020.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died in prison in 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amnesty International: China continuing &#8216;reeducation camps&#8217; for Uyghurs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chinese government&#8217;s persecution of Uyghurs and other Muslim ethnic groups in Xinjiang continues in &#8220;reeducation camps,&#8221; Amnesty International said in a\u00a0<a class=\"wsw__a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.laprensalatina.com\/rights-declining-in-china-which-continues-persecuting-uyghurs-amnesty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">human rights report<\/a>.
